Notifications

In-app and email updates for governance, security and billing events.

Notifications keep vault work visible when a user is not watching the exact page where it happens. The app has a global bell in the top bar and can also send transactional email for selected event categories.

What appears in the bell

The bell shows the latest governance events for your account across vaults:

  • Reviews — a version was submitted, approved, rejected or cancelled.
  • Access — someone requested access to a skill, or your request was approved or rejected.
  • Team — a member joined, was removed or had a role changed.
  • Security — a built-in or organization-policy scan completed with medium, high or critical risk.
  • Skill updates — an imported GitHub package changed. Current vault owners and admins receive one alert per package revision. Opening it selects the relevant vault and source; importing that revision resolves its unread alert.
  • Billing — payment failed or recovered, the grace deadline is approaching, governance was paused, an Enterprise trial has 7, 3 or 1 day remaining or ended, an Enterprise request was received, or an Enterprise offer is ready to review.

Open an item to mark it read and go to the relevant page. Use Mark all to clear the unread count without opening each item.

Email preferences

Go to Settings → Notifications to choose in-app and email delivery for each category.

Defaults:

CategoryIn-appEmail
ReviewsOnOn
AccessOnOn
TeamOnOff
SecurityOnOn
BillingOnOn
Skill updatesOnIn-app only

If in-app delivery is off for a category, the vault does not create inbox rows for those events. If email is off, the event can still appear in the bell but no email is queued.

Skill-update alerts are available only while you still manage the source's vault. They do not send email. Turn off Skill updates → In-app to stop new alerts; source status and manual checks remain available.

Email notifications use a category-specific template with the event state, what changed, a direct action button and a link back to notification preferences.

You are not notified about your own action. For example, if you submit a review, reviewers may be notified but you will not receive a notification saying that you submitted it. Billing confirmations are the exception: submitting an Enterprise request sends you a confirmation so you know it was recorded.

Review cancellation

A pending review can be cancelled by the person who requested it, or by a vault owner/admin. Cancellation returns the version to Draft and notifies the reviewer set that the pending review no longer needs a decision.
